New Restaurant Heats Up Downtown Lawrence
Check out a fresh fusion of Puerto Rican classics and BBQ favorites just in time for July 4th at El Encanto.
Cooking old family recipes, owner Danny Torres and his father Hilton want guests to feel like they are in Puerto Rico when they eat at their restaurant, El Encanto. “We want to provide our customers the very freshest, best quality and the best tasting food available at the best price with impeccable service, so they want to keep coming back,” Says Danny.
As an authentic Puerto Rican eatery, they serve up classic dishes, like their signature pork sandwiches and Mofongo stuffed with shrimp. But with a variety of mouth-watering empanadas, fried plantains, skewers, burgers, vegetarian options and so much more, there is something for everyone on the menu.
This family restaurant is located in the Revolving Test Kitchen at 420 Common Street, Lawrence. Formally occupied by Coco Ray’s, the Revolving Test Kitchen provides entrepreneurs with a trial run of their ventures by giving them key tools to launch their careers. “My plans include a full-dining restaurant with a bar and a manufacturing business where I can produce some of our special recipes for wholesale distribution, “says Danny. “With hard work and dedication plus the support and guidance we get from the Riverwalk team, we have no doubt we will grow our business.”
